About my translation services
A conference interpreter and translator since 1987, when he founded and chaired two ISO 9001-certified translation companies, in 1993 Malcolm Duff was appointed Senior Translator in Technology for UNESCO Paris and in Law with the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg.
Specializing in high technology with his company HTT, he has translated for, among others, the European Space Agency (ESA), NASA and SEP, the manufacturers of engines for Ariane rockets.
He also led the translation team of the Mattéoli Mission launched by President Jacques Chirac in 1997 on the spoilation of Jews in France during World War II.
During his career Malcolm Duff has designed several websites and web services that have made their mark on the language industry internationally, including ETNA™ (a precursor to the Internet in 1987), Inttranews™, Kontax™, T4J™ and Inttranet™, the first multilingual portal for professional interpreters and translators (with the contribution of the European Commission), the latter having been included in the UNESCO Observatory on the Information Society in January 2006.
After retiring to care for his wife who had Alzheimer's disease until her death in 2022, he continued to translate as a freelancer, notably pro bono for Reporters Without Borders.
His latest project is Tixx™, a unique economic and financial forecasting system based on Contract Award Notices (CANs). He had the idea more than 20 years beforehand, when his company won a large, three-year translation contract with the European Commission, and he realised the impact such a contract had not only on the future of his company, but on the future of its employees.
Created in 1999, Inttranet was the first multilingual database for professional interpreters and translators, accredited by the translation services of the European Commission.
Established in 2004, Inttranews was the leading aggregator of daily news in the language industry.
Founded in 2013, Kontax allowed users to publish press releases, have them translated into up to 67 languages, and distribute them to some 900,000 professional journalists in more than 100 countries.

Founded by Malcolm Duff in 1987, HTT was one of the first translation companies in France to obtain ISO 9001 certification and to have a multilingual website.
